though I think the whole reason is because I saw so many of my gamer friends have DRE issues out the ass that wasn't caused by discs and so I got mine later in the PS1 and PS2's lifetime.
People just don't make them like Nintendo and SEGA used to... well Nintendo does cause they're still around but man you just didn't see those issues with hardly any classic consoles.
