Yeah I know it isn't on rails because else we would have heard that from the people getting the hands-on behind closed doors in August. But what if the movement and camera control is very limited? Like they could make the default walking very slow, and then force you forward by literally push you forward when they decide to. Similar to on-rails games where the pacing and camera switches between standing still - slow walk - fast walk - run/fall. In that gameplay it seemed like the player was pushed off ledges and in and out of rooms several times and he even seemed to auto-run a few times (yikes)! Further, the camera control seemed slow, just like in cut-scenes of other games where you can look around freely but very slowly and then scripts control all the fast camera pans to where they want you to watch. |
Bear in mind that this is being played by somebody who is paid to show off the game. He wants it to look as impressive as possible. That means walking slowly, looking around you slowly, following along and taking the perfect path, never hesitating in movement or combat...
We'll have to wait and see just how much of that was actually controlled by the player, but I get the impression that it was the large majority.
