I think its easier for Capcom to just wait for Nintendo's next console and sell it as a launch title. Less risky, cheaper to port, and they could actually improve the game as opposed to struggle to get everything in. Or improve nothing and sell it for around $30.

We'll be on RE6 or 7 by then but it's like I noted earlier....Wii didn't get RE5 because it's less powerful or that they didn't want to deal with redoing art and code but because it wasn't planned for in time.   From what I've seen of Nintendo's new 3rd party strategy (especially with 3DS) and how 3rd parties know not to believe all those projection analysts that killed their Wii support before it even launched, I'm pretty confident their next home console will have far better 3rd party support from day one.

In my opinion, the only problem with Wii and 3rd party is the inferior specs.

If their next console isn't technically up to par with the competition, this will very likely happen again. Which isn't a big issue for Nintendo, they'll still make insane amounts of money. In the end all that matters is they cater to their audience.

Their next console will probably just be a small step up from the 360 and PS3.
