They are using a mod chip. Nintendo has already slightly modified the Wii to make it harder to mod (removed pins). They'll just start squirting a layer of glue on the connectors and unless you really really want to hack the new Wii's you won't do it in fear of ruining the hardware.
Prepare for termination! It is the only logical thing to do, for I am only loyal to Megatron.
