Halo 3 had a $120 bundle that was never claimed to be sold out, especially considering that you could find it everywhere. The Halo Reach Legendary Edition had news articles that had Gamestop claiming that they could no longer take preorders for it. Halo 3 had a $60 version and a $120 version along with a console bundle. Reach has a $60 version, $80 version, $250 version and a console bundle.

The situation is absolutely different.

If Microsoft's numbers include bundles and all game SKUs than it is very very possible that Reach launch was smaller than Halo 3 launch.

I agree it's possible, but you cannot determine it by the info we have.

The Reach Legendary edition is $149 just like the Halo 3 "Cat Helmet" edition was: http://www.amazon.com/Halo-Reach-Legendary-Xbox-360/dp/B002I0HCVK

Also, whether they sell out or not is dependant on supply. With Reach, Bungie said the limited editions would be more truly limited, because last time there were so many extra Legendary editions Halo 3s they ended up selling at cut rate prices.

So once again "not selling out" tells us nothing about how many sold. This time around they reduced supply of the special editions. Or so they claim.

But the Reach has a $60 regular, $80 Limited, and $150 Legendary, the exact same as Halo 3.

Thanks for the price correction on the Halo 3 Spartan Helmet Edition (Not sure of the actual name. Legendary?)

Also I must admit that Reuters just fucked up bad with the $250 number.

I will need to now go back and look at the numbers, but still either way, with the Reach Console bundle now actually including the game I still skeptical that VGChartz numbers are correct, but don't think I am trying to take digs at the game. I am just trying to find something truly interesting to discuss with people here.
