And why not spend a little less in marketing and cut the price to $100?

That actually ocurred to me.

MS has already spent a small fortune marketing Kinect and are essentially weighing heavily on it being a major part of the Xbox's future.

It also dawned on me that some of the compromises that were made to keep production costs of the unit down, were basically offset by the marketing and promotional costs for Kinect which factors into that $150 price tag.
