Unfortunately, PS3 worshippers are using old data to predict a future outcome. Yes, folks love the PS brand, but this is a new generation and saying the PS3 will beat the 360 because the PS2 beat the Xbox is insane.

Let's look at this in business terms - the PS3, in the period of a year, dropped 2-3 SKUs (if you count the Euro 60gb PS3 with limited BC), had 2-3 price cuts and introed 3 new SKUs to try and generate sales. Now that the holidays are here and folks are more than generous to spend money on gifts and Sony supporters are declaring victory. Sorry, but your console is what ... 7 million units behind. Wake me up with your rants when it's knocking on the Wii's door.

Any product that goes through 3 deleted skus, 2 price cuts and 3 new skus WITHIN ITS FIRST YEAR is a failure. It was rolled out without a true plan and absolutely no commitment to success. Sony did all of that in the PS3's first year because it wasn't producing the awesome results it was expecting.

And to think - the 360 is still selling consoles. Of course it's going to lose market share - it started at 100 percent, and I guess it's uphill from there.

Sony fanbots should just admit - this is a small start, but Sony's gotta brainwash a whole lotta folks AND stop the 360 from selling to dominate. And then, there's the Wii.

As much as folks wanna call me an Xbot, I am looking at the entire situation for the result. And the truth is, the 360 and PS3 are fighting for second. Even if the Wii is a bust, there's enough hype to leave it in first place for a long, long time.

And another reason the PS3 is in a bad position - true, folks are buying PS3s and anticipating a flood of games. What if those games keep getting delayed ... and delayed ... and delayed? Will you continue to say 'I am satisfied with this mediocre game' or just throw in the towel? Sony hasn't learned jack about pleasing customers. And sadly, most customers are so blinded by Sony they will buy a product from them without doing any research whatsoever.

And let's not forget the bottom line - getting paid. Will Sony do more fire sales to stay in the hunt? They are gaining market share, but losing tons of money on the *cheapiest* BR player on the market ... and it PLAYS GAMES!

Sony fans - enjoy this seasonal bump - and don't be shocked when sales for the PS3 plummet like a lead balloon.
