probably not; I could see it pulling that milestone by the end of NEXT year

LOL, are you serious, you didn't read the question right or what?

I thought he was either joking, being silly or read the question wrong but really I don't know what exacly he is thinking.  Wii shoudl be at least 93M end of next year though or maybe 94M.

It would have to sell around 500,000 units every week starting this week. Unless there's a huge spike I don't see the Wii even hitting 80 million units sold

Wii sold 22M last year and it needs at least 15M to hit 80M, and it's now at 8M and I think that milestone isn't a mile away.

Selling 8 mil in three months is highly unlikely; the Wii is a juggernaut compared to the DH twins, but it's not going to sell THAT much even with big titles like Kirby, NBA Jam, DKC, and Goldeneye.

It only needs 7M actually, and with it being cheaper now that last year it could just do it. Oh and 7M in 4 months rather than 8M in 3 months :p

I don't think that's the problem here

I guess this man just doesn't know about the magical effect of Christmas on console sales.  Aiddon, the Wii sold almost 2 million units during a single week last Christmas (and more than 1 million units each week for like a month or so)
