I don't get this. Blizzard says 3 million in one month worldwide. Why shouldn't they include digital distribution?

Anyway, I actually expected bigger numbers. That is like Halo Reach first day sold through customers. I expected something like 5-6 million in one month easily.I mean it is Blizzard we are talking about. THE PC developer.

Because nobody does.  Digital Distribution's biggest problem is that NOBODY wants to say just how big a pie it is.

I'm not sure why, but the major companies see some advantage in it so who am i to say.

I see two possible scenarios:

1. DD is so small that it's almost embarrasing to release figures.

2. DD is very profitable and successful and the publishers don't want retailers finding out how successful DD is.  Especially as it could create extra competition from retailers setting up their own DD networks and would get rid of second-hand sales.

Personally I think 2 is the more likely with the way DD has grown and the direction Sony tried to take with PSP Go. Remember how some retailers refused to stock the PSP Go as they wouldn't see any money from the software.
