If you take out the first two weeks of Modern Warfare 2 sales, you take away 5.7 and 3.7 million sales, almost half of the game sales, and still Modern Warfare for 360 will be ahead of the PS3 version. The current difference between games is 3 million, not less then 2.
However a lot of PS3 games do better then these pre-orders indicate because they either Appeal more to European or Japanese gamers (Gran Turismo 5), or because people don't know what to expect (Uncharted 2 only had 200k pre-orders before launch). As for Call of Duty, it's always been a bit more geared towards the 360 gamer (FPS branded console), and with timed exclusive map packs the 360 version gets more hype then the PS3 version (Just like Madden NFL 11 did for PS3, the PS3 sales were a lot higher this year).
