After playing the game for around 3 hours (just beat the boss in sector 1), i have some  complaints. The game is not exceeding my expectations, but its a fairly good game so far.

Complaints

-The voice Acting: there's just too much voice acting, sure i get it that it was for the fans, but i think that the execution wasn't very good. Bottom line, it disturbs the PACING of the game.

-Adam: his words alone have power over you, in that you cannot use missiles, bombs, power bombs, etc... this was very poor if you ask me. theres one quote he says... "power bombs can kill your fellow soldiers, and destroy the walls" or something along those lines

-the combat: the game is a cakewalk so far, going from room A to room B, automatic lock on makes the game a cakewalk. For example you move from the left to the right, and enemies move up, or behind you, or at 90, 180, degrees, and you cannot aim, unless you go to first person mode, which is a drag, so, just by pressin 1, you shoot, and the automatic lockon well makes the game easy.

-finding powerups: you find many powerups by defeating enemies in a room, and that makes a blue sign appear on the map, telling you if there is a misslie expansion, or a tank piece.... this just makes the game easier for the casual gamer, and took away the fun of exploring the game by myself.

I'm first a Metroid Fan, not a nintendo fan. Take my words with a grain of salt if you cannot distringuish between a great to a good game. Metroid Other M is a good game. Not a great one unfortunately. I kinda see why reviews are between 7's and 8's and i agree. Though my metroid bias, has me rating it as an 8-8.5

On that point, remember that Super Metroid had the map dots too. This isn't a new element introduced for a new casual gamer or anything.

I'll agree on Adam. They could've come up with a better deus ex machina to deal with that, or just ignored the issue entirely.

You know the old premise "Samus got shot or crashed and lost her equipement" got really old. At least with Adam it makes some sense.

Oddly, Metroid Fusion had the best of them. Her suit was wrecked from infection so she lost her powers.

In this case they could easily have come up with something better, like the stress from the fight with Mother Brain drained her suit once the hyper mode wore off.

Like some reviewers have pointed out, it makes for some weird situations in the game, like when Samus suffers from lack of Varia. How in the hell could having Varia active be a bad thing? Or the grapple beam? Or the gravity suit for that matter.

Also, i just beat Super Metroid again. Not sure what i did right, but Ridley was easy as hell (especially given that i had only 9 energy tanks). And Mother Brain there is laughably easy, since once you go hyper, you can just stand right under her and shoot up most of the time, except when she extends her neck vertically, then you only have to go into her firing zone for one shot, and its back to easy mode again.

And i saved the animals and didn't get shit for it. Is there something i was supposed to do after shooting them free of that room?

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
