Holiday sales don't tend to keep up after the main event (that being Christmas). In fact, if you look at historical data, the drop-offs start immediately after Christmas and stay lower until mid-November of the next year. There's all of 2 days' worth of sales during this current week which will count towards holiday sales, and I cannot see many last-minute shoppers going for a $400 to $500 console (especially when it's not supply-constrained; I've yet to see a shop out of stock of PS3s). I'm not really one to make predictions, but I think it's a safe bet that the PS3 will manage sub-400,000 next week. Probably quite a bit less, if historical trends are any indicator (and they usually are).
