weird that people think halo reach is gonne sell massive amounts of x360's   even thou there are already 2 halo games.

ioi is currently estimating that Reach will push over an extra 100,000 consoles in America in the first month.

To quote him directly (America only):

It doesnt really need to be explained... This idiotic arguement that nobody will be incentivised to buy a console for a Halo game because Halo 3 is already out is a way too simplisic way of looking at it.   

i don't think he questioned the system selling part but the 100k part

yeah soz if i wasn't clear I was just wondering where the 100k comes up cause that seems like one hell of a lot to me , but it might actually happen

Okay to be fair, there was one one proper full Halo title on the 360. ODST was almost an expansion, and Halo Wars is a fan game, not a BIG blockbuster Halo. Halo 3 came out in 2007, and in 2007 PS2 was still the dominant system. I'm sure a lot of people considering to upgrade consoles have forgotten about Halo 3, so Halo Reach will push consoles, and a lot of them.

Also, just like how the White PS3 doubled PS3 sales in Japan, a limited edition Halo Reach Slim 360 will also push sales drastically.

100k in a week, that seems reasonable to me, as it's not just the game, but a limited edition console as well, overall it probably will push more consoles since you still have to consider the European and asian market.

100k in a week, no problem, lifetime it probably will boast 360 sales a lot more because if Halo does well, 360 does well this fall.

BTW kowenicki I completly agree with you. I would also like to add that Playstation 3 had Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, which is one of the best selling PS3 exclusives, so it's not like gran Turismo is completly new to the PS3 either.
