It started out costing about 2x as much as a PS2 did when the PS2 launched, and as such it will end at a higher price point than the PS2 was able to reach. My best bet would be that $149-199 will be the lowest the PS3 gets to (especially if they decide to bundle Move with every PS3 at some point). |
so you expect nexgen between 2011 and 2012 then? Even though microosft has stated KINECT is going to add another half a gen to the 360, and sony has stated they aren't launching a console until Nintnedo and Microsoft have launched their next consoles?
Honestly the only console maker that I see bringing out a new system within the next couple of years is nintendo, and they don't release consoles at the same time as handhelds, so I suspect a 2012 nintendo system is probable, but the other too im not too sure, by then surely the ps3 would be $199..
