Actually i've done that but that wasn't me being emo it was me being depressed xD

Emo stands for emotional, it's a music "genre" and a style. Emo bands usually sing rock songs with lyrics about love etc.
It's also connected with people having depression and cutting their wrists as Soriku said, if you wanna have a taste of how an emo guy looks like...
