Acting like Wii is somehow a failure or less of a success because it did not have near PS2's marketshare is just foolish.

I haven't seen anyone call wii a failure. But it is less successfull than ps2, that is a fact. Why? Because Ps2 had much bigger marketshare and it had the support which wii does not have.

IF wii some day will sell more than 140 million units or something like that, you could have one point to call it as big success as ps2 was. But even then, the competition has sold a LOT more than GC/XB.

Marketshare is pretty irrelevant in the end. It's all about profits, and it's obvious that Nintendo has generated more profit with the Wii than Sony with the PS1 and PS2 combined.

Ok. Care to show me those figures for wii only and do the same for ps2 only? Not counting GBA/PSP/DS/PS3 or anything else but the wii and ps2. I guess you can, if it is so obvious. I'll be waiting.

It's called common sense. Try some, it's pretty good!

So, where are the figures to support your common sense? Nowhere to be seen? If you can't back something up with a fact, then it just your own assumption. I don't care about your assumptions.

Fact: Nintendo has made a profit on every Wii sold since launch. Sony sold most PS2's at a loss.
Fact: Nintendo has sold MUCH more software on Wii alone than Sony on PS1 and PS2 combined. I don't know by how much at the top of my head but look it up, it's staggering.
Fact: Wii is still tracking higher than PS2, so to compare the absolute amount of units sold at this moment is a skewed way to look at the amount of succes the console has.
