I think part of it is the first tier software. This is software to attract first buyers, which would be more dedicated games. It could also be that since Nintendo wants to disrupt Sony, it is putting out software to attarct those buyers.
Nintendo will make expanded audience games, but they will be nothing like we've seen before. Most likely they will take 3D and appeal it to new gamers.
