It never ceases to amaze me how creative people get when attempting to undermine the Wii's success..

People say it's a close generation.. Is it? I don't really see a 31 million console lead as close, especially when its  next closest rival came out an entire year ealier. I mean Super NES beat Genesis by what.. a measly 4 million consoles? Yet everybody talks like Super NES was this dominant console. Yet Wii has a 31 million lead, and people seem to talk about it as if it's the Sega 32x.

It doesn't have PS2 like domination.. Well duh, NOTHING will ever again have PS2 like domination. The PS2 not only came out a year earlier, but was spearheaded by the giant known as Sony, had a near monopoly of 3rd party support, and was coming off the heels of the breakout hit console Playstation. Not to undermine its success or anything, just saying, it was a completely different ballgame. Acting like Wii is somehow a failure or less of a success because it did not have near PS2's marketshare is just foolish.

A lot of people here are going to look silly when we get closer to the holidays and Wii starts to get some console movers again.
