Predictions: GOTY Totals?

Red Dead Redemption and LittleBigPlanet 2 are both going to get massive numbers. SMG2 will have loads as well, but it would look slightly odd, since quite a few sites gave the award to SMG in 2007 (that said, quite a few gave it to LBP in 2008, but not nearly as many).

I'd like to think GoW3 and Heavy Rain will get a few. The rest, not really.

The Wii will be a very close second, but Wii games don't tend to review as well (put that down to what you will). SMG2 will get tons, Kirby might score a couple. I don't see Metroid or Monster Hunter getting any, really. Donkey Kong could get a few.

360 in third, largely thanks to RDR, with some help from Mass Effect 2. None of the others will really be GoTY material, I don't think.

PC in fourth. Some great games, but does anyone ever give the award to a PC game?

DS and PSP will both be way down, only because people don't even think about those two when handing out awards.

So yeah, PS3, with Wii a close second.

 

I'm just curious as to how Halo: Reach isn't GOTY material, unless you haven't been paying attention to what's been announced...

Other than some new powerups and weapons, I'm not aware of any massive changes to the Halo formula, but I could be wrong; I haven't really been following it.

EDIT: I'm not saying it won't be fantastic. I'm just saying it won't beat the likes of RDR, LBP2 and SMG2 (or ME2). It will certainly win some awards, just not a huge number.
