About Gran Turismo; GT games aren't about pre orders, they're about tremendous legs ,the kind of legs that had GT3 on top 20 charts even when GT4 released. Games like Halo, Final Fantasy and Need for Speed are generally a lot more frontloaded and may rack up huge pre orders (which is why the first week sales are always so massive) but the legs tend to taper off fairly quickly in comparison.
And I don't think its correct that no one cares about Gran Turismo any more. Nothing points to that (like I said; pre orders are a poor indication of GT lifetime sales and besides, its not like the competition has sold zounds either, Forza 3 will be hard pressed to beat its predecessor sitting at a little over 4 million) and all we can do is wait and see what happens when it launches.
Personally, I don't believe that GT will move a lot of hardware right away in massive bulks but will promote the library as a whole over time as a really, really awesome racing title that most PS3 owners must have. The Reach bundle will do nicely and the game itself will push some hardware but I really don't see how anyone expects it to have the same impact that Halo 3 did, launching so early into the console's lifecycle, this is not how hardware sales work.
