The only effective piracy prevention method for a console is to use a format for your games which is difficult and expensive to copy; the N64 cartridges, Gamecube Discs, and PS3's Blu-Ray discs are all good examples of this. It is pretty much impossible to prevent people from getting around any hardware protection you have, and if people can go out and buy (for little money) what they need to copy your games there is nothing that can stop it.

 


 Nintendo should be dipping the Wii circuit boards in super hard glue, that would prevent most people from modding their Wii's.  The PSP's firmware can be hacked no matter what now...  Sony can't stop it from happening.  They could put a crazy encyrption on every game but that would still be hackable.  I don't think Piracy is what has killed the PSP software sales, otherwise the DS would suffer an even worse fate.


Yea an 8 year old, is going to find a way to code and hack there ds...
