I remember the DS, and sometimes the Wii, getting dissed as another Virtual Boy. What they of course meant was a total failure due to a bad gimmick. Not only did that not happen, Nintendo is now doing with the 3DS what they couldn't do with the Virtual Boy back then.
This is Gunpei's vision redeemed.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
