Will SMG2 outsell SMG in their respective lifetimes?

yeah, but on the other hand, direct sequels of nintendo games usually get lower review scores than their predecessors (i think i remember pikmin2's score > pikmin1's by just a single point)

in SMG2's case, the sequel got better review scores all round and from almost all famous gaming site (most of whom gave the game perfect scores), so i think SMG2 has a chance, also as morenoingrato said before, it can take advantage of NSMBWii's current popularoty, also has a bigger userbase than the first Galaxy (though this won't give SMG2 that big of an advantage imo)

Pikmin 1 & 2 are great examples on why it will sell less.  While pikmin 2 was rated better. It sold 200k more than half of what the 1st sold.  If I remeber correctly. Pikmin 1 was 1.7 million. While pikmin 2 was 1 million. Also Pikmin 2 beat pikmin 1 by 3 points
