No its not turn based, thankfully.

And it will definetely get localized, CAMMIE mentioned Xenoblade & The Last Story in an interview a while ago without any prompting, so that definetely indicated The Last Story is coming to the west, I don't think there should have ever been any doubt that it would be coming to the west.

I remember she said a maybe, so that's why I think of that as the localizition

let's hope the not turn based doesn't turn it in an action game with rpgish elements

I will say stop expecting many Turn based RPG's to come out now, less devs will be using the turn based methods. Now with the 3DS we'll probably see less turn based RPG's on handhelds too.

Obviously some games will stick with turn based, but even Dragon Quest a series rooted in traditions was gonna leave the turn bases system for DQIX (they didn't in the end).
