On a purely technical level MH3 is quite poor compared to something like Twilight Princess and almost absurd when you think that it's pushing Zelda Wii, but when you think about it Nintendo has always been about the art and design, no matter the console their games try to look good and its not always with how much juice you can get out of the system and from an artistic standpoint MH3 has some of the best designed enviornments in any game this gen, it really gives the feeling of being in nature, some of the scenery looks amazing, but with the circle shadows and shadows that don't even react to light (even OoT had shadows that would react to light AKA Navi) you know MH3 isn't going to be pushing technical levels. |
Come on, Monster Hunter Tri's not that bad technically. Yes, it had blob shadows, but the textures, animations and poly-counts are far superior to Twilight Princess.
TP had some pretty ugly environmental textures, and Link's running animation was very robotic. MH3 beats it handily it everything sans lighting/shadowing.
I hope Zelda Wii looks a whole step better again.
