Sony was probably focusing on multimedia because video games alone didn't give them enough profit (2 billions of the PS2 isn't that much money considering how clearly it dominated). As you pointed out the focus for consoles and handhelds should be on games and that's why Sony is losing with PSP and PS3.

I agree with you, there won't be a Playstation 4. There might be another console from Sony, but it would be stupid to keep the name Playstation, because the brandname will be worth nothing after this generation.

Sony gave away their Crash Bandicoot and Spyro franchises after the PSone era, since then they are owned by Vivendi. Both series are multiplatform now and will be in the future considering Vivendi's plans how to handle these franchises.

Ratchet is still an Insomniac game and a PS3 game is in development. Naughty Dog is currently working on Uncharted. I doubt that we will see Ratchet or Jak on a Nintendo console.

Sonic is still owned by Sega and was multiplatform last generation, but it seems that Sonic games will stay exclusive on the Wii in the future, considering the ratings and sales of Sonic the Hedgehog (360/PS3) and Sonic and the secret rings (Wii).

The PS3 is doomed. But it will still take some months or even years for some diehard sony fanboys to realize that. But yes... vvv signature vvv

Crash and Spyro were not owned by Vivendi in the first place. Crash was owned by Naughty Dog. Spyro was owned by Insomniac. Vivendi bought them after Sony dumped them in the streets. And Vivendi only made a few games for them, before passing them onto other developers. Crash in particular got passed around like a hot potatoe, which is why he looks weird in his new game, "Crash of the Titans." I personally think the game looks horrible.

Naughty Dog and Insomniac sold off Spyro and Crash, so why would they not sell off Ratchet and Jak? Not only that, Crash and Spyro trippled the sales of Jak and Ratchet. They were more successful, yet they sold them off anyways, which gives more of a reason to sell off the less successful, Jak and Ratchet, in due time.

I think Crash was the best. He was the only one who was closest to Mario. Spyro is childish, Jak went horribly bad after the first game, and Ratchet is pretty average like Rayman, Bomberman, and Pac-Man.

Jak and Ratchet will be on the PS3, but who knows, they might be on the Xbox 360 and Wii aswell. Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex was multi-platform, so why not Ratchet and Jak. I don't think Naughty Dog is making Jak games anymore. They are focusing on a different game, which also in my opinion, doesn't look that good. I don't know about Insomniac though. But at the end, Nintendo always ends up with the mascot characters. They got Sonic, Crash, and Spyro, so I really think they will end up with Jak and Ratchet. They even got Bonk after the Turbo Graphix failed. There are some mascot characters that so far, have not made it to Nintendo... yet... besdies Jak and Ratchet, which include Blinx the Timesweeper... um... was never really popular but... hmmm... I guess that's the only one... Wow...
