Even if Sony announces a PSP-2 at E3, the biggest surprise will still be our first look at the Nintendo 3DS.

Why would the biggest surprise of E3, be something we will have known about for months?

I'm curious.

Because we haven't seen it yet. When we finally get the revelation of the thing we are eager to see but can not yet comprehend, it will probably have much more in the way of surprises than the thing that... well... a second PSP.

Ok so you cannot comprehend the next DS but you can comprehend the next PSP?

I think we can no more comprehend the next DS than we could comprehend the first DS. Remember how we couldn't comprehend the first DS at all? Even when Nintendo announced it and showed it off, they left out the touch screen part, and we were left completely uncomprehending. As for the next PSP... unless they take the Move approach of shamelessly copying the DS... is there really anything they can do that would elicit much excitement?

I don't understand where your getting at tbh, the first psp was also full of surprises, games like FF:CC or GOW really showed the power of the device, I think games like Tekken:DR showed it can even surpass it's console counterpart...heck you can run skype etc on it as well, not trying to put down DS here (I have one and love it) BUT doesn't mean psp is any less capable of a hardware, they both have their strengths and weakneses. I'm sure the next one will be a nice powerful little handheld as well and will include many features as the current one as well...

I think the problem with your statement is using 'we' instead of 'I'...cuz I ASSURE you many will be VERY eager to see what the next PSP has to offer as there will be many who will do the same for the 3DS

And please stop the whole copy thing now, such comments almost always derail topics, especially as staff be a bit more unbiase and try to avoid such things, just a request

I don't mean to derail with the copy comment, but I find it very much applies. The Wii was like the DS in that it introduced revolutionary new input devices that changed gaming and opened it to a wide new audience. Sony has already shown that they are willing to copy this on the console front. So why shouldn't we be surprised if they show they are willing to copy Nintendo's advances on the portable front as well?
