Well of course they are universally positive, its Astro, they are considered one of the best in the business for a reason. =P
And might I add, the A30's are sexy as hell haha

I've done some more research and I honestly doubt that bolded part.

For one thing, Astro's Mixamp seems to be well regarded. It allows the user to change the balance between voice chat and game sound. It amplifies headphones and is supposed to be a good investment if you play a lot of games and already have a great set of headphones.

That said, the A30 and A40 seem to be a mixed bag. There are high quality headphones available for about $100 (SR80i / AD700) that absolutely kill the A30/A40 in music and gaming/movies respectively. Heck, I could buy both sets of headphones and still come out under the Astro's $230 price tag. The only area I can see the a30's winning out is looks, portability, and privacy against some of the lower priced, higher sound quality rivals. I'm questioning if I really want to carry around ~$150 headphones with me on trips anyway, as the a30s apparantly cook your ears when you're using them outside.

I have a zalman clip-on mic that I use now with my Sony headphones which works great, so really I'm free to get any set of headphones I wish. Astro's headphones seem to be more hype than substance frankly.
