Gamecube was more or less PS2 Junior. It landed somewhere between irrelevant and a joke last generation.
The Wii, on the otherhand, not only has superior iterations to Gamecube's top titles; but also has NES, SNES, N64, Genesis, TG16, ports for download, as well as some very interesting original titles for download. Not to mention a large number of very unique titles that were very fresh (Wii Fit, Wii Sports, Wario Ware Smooth Moves, etc..); it was the first major console to offer great motion and IR controls. It also dominates this generation, and is the first Nintendo system in 10 years to give me a reason not to really bother with any other systems.
Like the majority of Nintendo fans before the Wii, I played their handheld systems mostly, and played PSX and PS2 for home console.
I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
