I can't say I remember anyone specifically getting me to buy a game (I know a few people who have tried though). However, I did buy a few games based on the overall hype
- Zack & Wiki / Really Regret (except for the fact that I bought for $6 and sold for $22)
- Uncharted / Like (not as much as the hype, but it is a good game)
- Elite Beat Agents / Love (got it for $5 with a starter kit)
- LittleBigPlanet / Like (ok platformer, cool level creator but not for me)
- Okami / mostly MontanaHatchet / Slightly Regret (I beat most of it, but it gets game breaking with that stupid wall and too much useless story)
That about sums it up and there is only 1 person I can blame
