That is actually very offputting. Zeratul had a really active role in SC1 and it seems he just became another old wiseman. Also why would he be in such a hurry? Etc. etc.
It also seems the zerg aren't the big baddy thing, which is even more retarded.

First of all, this is basically the terran campaign - zeratul likely has a larger role in the protoss campaign. Second, absolutely nothing suggests that he's just an "old wiseman." infact I've heard of some really action packed single player sequences starring him.
As for the zerg not being the big baddy - why is that retarded? The zerg being overshadowed by the Xel'Naga as a threat seems pretty thrilling - and their return has been foreshadowed from the very beginning.

See, the Xel'Naga have every right to annihilate the Zerg. However, the Xel'Naga were never people who killed, in fact quite the opposite, they created races. Making the Xel'Naga off as bad for the protoss or terran is absolutely retarded. The Zerg are the only ones that want to absorb and store all life's genetic data.
Also, the Protoss campaign is 2 years away, probably more, so as far as SC2 is concerned, he's the old wise man.

For what purpose did the Xel'Naga create races? I mean, if you look at most science fiction, most created races are used for either slave labor, or as cannon fodder in wars... Yes the Xel'Naga created races, but I don't think we're ever told what their motives were. We do know that for whatever the reason, the protoss rose up and drove them off their homeworld.
And even though the protoss campaign is a ways away, did you ever watch the VERY first preview cinamatic for SC2? it was zeratul hacking his way through tons of zerg, and being confronted by kerigan. And there are missions related to this in the terran campaign. So don't worry about him being relegated down to just an "old wise man". (Though he won't be the star, but he never was)

Damn, you aren't making the wait for StarCraft II any easier. My hype level just went through the roof.
