Pwned... Your correct, America didn't want Western Europe to become Communists... That was their main thrive to support the Europeans... America had their own values at stake, that is the main reason. The American historybooks keep saying it was to defend the Europeans. It was, but it wasn't their main thrive. That is something u don't see in American historybooks. Btw: The communists aren't as bad in theory. It just doesn't work if u have a leader who is paranoid and kills everyone who he suspects of being unfaithful. I'm glad though that the American's helped us in that war, or we'd have been crushed And just to get some facts straight: During WW2. Paris had been conquered by the Germans/Nazi's. But there was still a large part of France that hadn't been conquered. Those guys were still fighting for their freedom. That was before America came and D-day had started. The UK was actually saved by a Norwegian guy who was a secret agent. He blew up the factory that was researching the possibilities of making a Nuclear bomb which was rumored to be thrown on London. The American convois supported the UK and other parts of Europe really good btw. Only problem was the U-boats. Owyeah, another thing: English is heavily influenced by the French. This is due to the war between the French and the English that had occured after the Dark age. As such, a lot of 'chique' words can be related to their French form. Words like: Vehicle, Library or Ancestral. |
All true, the Norwegian you're referring too was Gunnar Sønsteby, who visited the Norwegian king Haakon in the UK in 1942. The king knew that Gunnar had over 20 different identities, so he said; "Good afternoon Herr Sønsteby, and what is your name today?"

... Btw: That Irak/Afghanistan war is bullshit. Oil-war i'd like to call it. And our stupid Dutch president wants us to keep the troops there altough our whole country is against it. They don't want a Referendum cuzz they are afraid of the outcome. Our president is a stupid slave of Bush, and that annoys me!
