| Kynes said: It's funny how people throw away the word overtracked, always to the Wii or the X360, without taking into consideration some facts. The number of consoles in the distribution channel varies from time to time, you need several weeks of sales in distribution, not a fixed amount. If PS3 is selling now 30000 to 50000 consoles more than Microsoft each week, they need 250000 to 400000 consoles more in the distribution channel. And we are in the slowest months of the year, so having 1.2 million of consoles in the channel is not a low amount, they are 9 weeks of sales, more than what is necessary. Please, think a moment before saying stupid things. |
The majority of people saying overtracked only joined around September last year and will probably be gone by January 2011 so I wouldn't be too bothered about educating them in fairness. There is a huge number of reasons why the numbers are fine and very few that backup the sentiment it is overtracked. Lets just forget for instance how in the past the difference between shipped and sold to consumers was bigger than it should be because of the long term adjustments ioi made with Others data after xmas.
