Here is an accurate portrayal of your average Otaku.

As you can see here, he has dorky hair, gaudy clothes, and frequently obsesses over fictional characters.

In other words, go to your nearest Star Trek/cosplay convention and open fire.

Trekkies aren't really Otaku as Otaku are usually people obessed strictly with Japanese culture. (mostly anime and manga)
