I can't get Final Fantasy VI (III) to work on my SNES T_T

that's not the problem that I'm having with FFIII. My copy won't even start.

But does that mean that I can run the game if I have another converter?

Have you played it using an import adapter on a PAL machine and in that case, what adapter did you use?
