I think the most important thing about this is that it shows that square failed to sell this game to a wider audience beyond the FF core fanbase , hence the poor sales on the 360. I think versus XIII will do better considering its going in a darker, more action orientated direction. I think it will appeal to a lot of core gamers who arn't in the FF series, and if the adverts look as sick as the teaser trailers im sure it will appeal to an even larger audience. |
I would agree with statement. I enjoyed the changes they made in FFXIII for the most part as they seemed fresh and a change of pace, but a lot dont a gree. And i'm A FF core Fanbase as I've played everyone. (but me =/= everyone)
But I do think squares intention like you said to widen the fanbase and they failed. They might have gotten some 13 year old kids like FF8 got me, but no more than if it would have been a normal FF.
And some people on this site are more melodramitic than the game itself.. :P it's trending like its going to underperform if the legs trend continues. But not a flop.
