At one point I thought the whole thing (console wars) might turn into an HD vs SD affair, but clearly the diehard PS3/360 fans were unable to settle their differences enough to try for HD victory over SD sales type arguements.

Well, the top 6 software is all Wii/DS and did over a half million units, and only 2 of those are "newer" titles, whereas the next 3 PS360 titles account for around 150,000. Not even close.

It makes me wonder about the uptake of HDTV's and whether it's quite where the HD guys would have you believe. I mean, if you read the "3D will push X console sales through the roof!" threads, you would think that every household already has 2 HDTV's and at least one that's 3D ready. I think a lot more people than we like to admit are still hangin' with their SDTV's and are fairly satisfied.

Also, up until this week I have to admit I ignored the blue colored sales, but I think I'll keep a watch on them. It makes worrying about second place seem like who gets the slightly less smelly turd, to be honest.

That's been my feeling for the better part of this generation. LoL.
