I actually agree with you quite a bit on this point. But I think in terms of market share and public perception the increase is an important factor for the PS3 in a very real way, regardless of where or why it is there.
I am looking forward to seeing what the numbers will look like next year and if I am still visiting this site on a regular basis I will probably just expand on this format.
