Hopefully the tables themselves should be self-explanatory. This is something I put together in my spreadsheet earlier this year to watch the holidays as they develope to try and understand the sales trends a bit better. There is definitely some interesting info to be had here regarding holiday sales trends.

Hopefully people will have more to say about these tables than the last charts I put up =P I know you guys are capable of understanding this stuff so let me know what you are getting from this (if anything).

Talking about yearly changes here:

Wii - huge
PS3 - great
Xbox360 - average

Great work Sqrl, thanx and can't wait to see the rest get updated!

Both PS3 and Wii seeing big improvements over last year. 360 not so much. I dont see Wii increasing much more over the holiday period solely due to supply restraints. Nintendo are really missing out an a massive demand surge during this period.

PS3 should see a large increase over last years xmas numbers. I dont think the 360 will increase at all, its numbers last year were surprising, might be hard to match.

EDIT: PS3 had a weeks boost as it hadnt launched, still pretty big increase though.

Wii on the other hand is seeing a major increase cause it hadnt launched, but its beaten its launch sales which is amazing really.

Make sure you realise that for some of those weeks the Wii and PS3 hadnt been launched people.

The only reason there seems to be a PSWii increase is due to lack of weeks in the beginning.

Shocking that the Wii and PS3 are selling far more now that they're not nearly as supply-constrained. Absolutely shocking.

Common sense, people. Just as the 360 improved several fold in 2006 over its 2005 numbers, the PS3 and Wii are doing the same in 07 over their 06 numbers.

If you would like you can subtract 142k from the PS3 total change column and 980k from the Wii total change column to take out the extra weeks that it wasn't released last year.

I added the '06 vs '05 (360) version of the table for comparison~

Ps3 increase WHY??

because it HADN'T LAUNCHED IN EU last year at this time

thats the reason such a big increase is there....
