"If you look at the chart that Bod supplied, you would see that it is exactly what they are implying."
Yes but the chart is simplified because there are no seasons included. If you look at the main chart you will see no christmas spikes. For no system for no year (even 2007) So the PS3 wouldn't have to spike 400% after christmas (because it already sells 1 -> 1.5 millions during Nov/Dez) but it would need to increase sales 2008 vs. 2007.
" It's still an absolutely ridiculous position. Basically the 360 has only down to go, Wii will slow down, and the PS3 will start eclipsing both (conveniently right after reality ends and their forecast begins?)."
Let's see. 2007 the system cost 600$ and it had NO games until November. With 400$ and a titles like AC, CoD4, Ratchet, we have already seen impressive gains. 2008 its library will have more tentative superhits than the other systems and the price could drop into mainstream territory (300$) by christmas. If the PS3 doesn't sell much much more systems 2008 than 2007 I would be really surprised. 300-400% and eclipsing the Wii? Doubtful but surely not absolutely ridiculous.
