I bet taht even the old 2600 has some power left in it that wasnt squeezed out 
Seriously tough,you can get more and more power out of a console even 10 years later if you optimize it right 
Hell, the best looking PS2 game ( GoW2, and IMO thats not that questionable here) came after 7 years
