Well, yes and no. Mostly no.
I fully expected the Wii to do better than Gamecube - I didn't expect it to not only destroy its main rivals with both hands tied behind its back, but to beat the NES as well.
As for the DS, well - Nintendo has always been the sovereign in the handheld department, so I'm more surprised that the PSP managed to check it for a while. And then Nintendogs came and the PSP got overrun.
Personally, my first home console was the PS2 - had Nintendo not released the Wii as it was, it would've been my last, and I'd become a "full-time" PC gamer again.
