The only thing where Bayonetta might have upper hand over GoW is the fluidity of combat, but that's thanks to different playstyle. Bayonetta is basically DMC with female heroin, which sadly lost all the appeal that the real DMC had since everything in Bayonetta apart from the actual gameplay is bland and boring.
Animation per se, meaning animation of characters... GoW > miles over > Bayonetta. If you mean fluidity of combat, than yes, Bayonetta is more fluid, but that has nothint to do with animation. Bayonetta is also "faster" by deafult and the combat system is different. It's OK to prefer Bayonetta's style over GoW3, but it's wrong to judge the quality of the game from one single comparasing when the other game is clearly better in every other aspect, and only because you like one of the playstyles better than the other.
That's not quality difference, that's playstyle preference. In the end, God of War is clearly a better and more polished game. Bayonetta's playstyle just suits you more, but it's not a better game.
