I don't know why you guys are all complaining about graphics. As you may see from my username, I'm only playing on Nintendo consoles usually so all you that are complaining are probably just used to HD graphics.

I haven't seen enough of FFXII or other PS2 rpg's to compare Xenoblade's graphics to them, but I can compare it with Gamecube games, and I tell you it looks better. Baten Kaitos which is from the same developer was a pretty game, but this goes a step further. Of course the character models are a weak point, but they're also not as bad as some of you make them.

Anyway, as I'm currently playing Skies of Arcadia and liking it a lot it actually doesn't even matter to me how good these graphics now are, but I still get annoyed by some people here in the forums so I wanted to point that out.

No, we are comparing the graphics to other Wii titles and 5-8 year old PS2 titles. These are NOT HD games.

The fact is, Monolithsoft developed Xenosaga, and the Xenosaga series looks a lot better than this one. Monolithsoft also has Nintendo backing them this time around - there isn't a reason why they should be providing a lower quality product as their flagship title.

Saying games like Skies of Arcadia or Chrono Trigger look beautiful despite being on older hardware doesn't really apply:

A. Both Skies of Arcadia and Chrono Trigger had very talented artists working on them, and they created very nice art styles ; Xenoblade does not have as interesting of an art style as either of those games - Xenoblade more resembles the bland WRPG style.

B. Chrono Trigger and Skies of Arcadia made VERY good use of their respective hardware ; Xenoblade's models look very outdated, and not in a stylistic way like other retro games. In a way that looks like they just cut corners.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
