Yes.  From the gameplay videos it looks to be much more challenging.  As much as I loved Super Mario Galaxy, it was a little too easy except for the Purple Comet and and Daredevil Comet stages.

By the way Guiduc, this is a really good thread.  You put a lot of work into it.
