I would just like to make a note that both Microsoft and Sony are putting millions of dollars and much of the future of their consoles onto trying to get the Wii audience to "upgrade" to HD consoles. the Natal and move will both be marketed as being superior to the Wii just look at the Keven Butler move ad and the types of games that have been shown so far. So both Microsoft and Sony think they can get Wii owners to jump ship for better specs, so why wouldn't you think that the Wii 2 or whatever with brand name and sequels to games they already know and the possibility of even higher specs will be more likely to get Wii users to upgrade?
Oh and the fact that a lot of the Wii userbase chose the Wii over the PS360 doesn't mean they will not be interested in a technically superior Wii with whatever new thing Nintendo brings to the table. Mainly as a lot of these people were not interested in any consoles before this generation or left gaming in their teens etc during NES/SNES days and even earlier, or they weren't even old enough before this generation. There is also the chance to bring new people into gaming and/or bring more core gamers over to the Nintendo camp the truth is that we don't know what kind of console it will be or how Nintendo will market it. The specs and marketing of the 3DS will give us an idea of what they might go with the Wii 2 but even then we still won't know for sure.
