By the end of 2010: Wii - 135 m PS3 - 40 m 360 - 27 m

Hi'yall, I'm back. As some of you might remember, I made that prediction back in 2006 and I think I deserve some credit here.

360: not counting replacements due to RRODs, I think my estimate was quite good.

PS3: Spot-on?

Wii: There has not been an official price drop at least here in Europe, so I don't think it's unrealistic to assume that Wii has the potential to sell tens of millions of units worldwide this year. The question is how much will the price drop be and when will it take place.

20 million off....that is not good.

Ummm... so there have been more than 5 million RROD cases, and thus far MS has sold about 38 m 360 units. 38-5=33. So currently, that's about 6 million off when RRODs are excluded. And the prediction was made in 2006.

If you look at some of the other predictions made in 2006, you'll notice they're way more off. My estimates are probably 1000% closer to truth than Pachter's originals

Source for the 5 million RROD cases please.

And no MS sold 38m units. MS fixes RROD consoles and replaces them, but they don't count as sales.

At the end of 2010 there will be at least 45m 360s sold, so you're off by 18m. Probably more.
