He is the man as always but I think comparisons to Reggie are a little unfair.
Miyamoto is a creator and I think his humility and the ability to put himself in others shoes is part of what makes him a great designer. Reggie's job on the other hand is, to one extent or another, to keep Nintendo in the eye and mind of the media and paint Nintendo's creations and successes in the most positive light. If he was nice, polite and boring no one would want to talk to him. In this aspect of his job he is a far better head of NOA than his predecessors. Reggie might be a smug bastard but for the most part and with a couple of recent exceptions he sticks to talking up Nintendo rather than talking down the competition.
