shenmue was more artsy, contemplative, and mysterious. One would lose time just feeding cats or talking to weird people without purpose. Yakuza has evolved towards a more open-ended world but you still feel the story is predictable.

It's like comparing David Lynch with John Woo
With david lynch/ shenmue you wondered what is it that i am seeing doing
With John Woo/ yakuza you know what's going on and all you care about is going at it with a bang

You can do that on Yakuza you know?

plus the story is NOT predictable at all, you haven't played it right?

I wouldn't call Yakuza predictable, and I have yet to actually get into Shenmue, but seriously we need more Majima!
