Neither is it right to call it terrible for just hitting one million when it's:
- Losing the full 3D control which is when the series when from a few million to massive selling
- It has an art style atypical to the series, which makes people look like blobs with the perspective
- Doesn't even feel like the 3D GTA games overall
So even if it's not a smashing success, it's not terrible. It had just as many things against it as were for it. Brand name alone can't sell a product when it's the brand name plus the associations that sell a product. CW lost those associations.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
